ExposureIQ Privacy Notice
Effective August 21, 2026
ExposureIQ is a beta mobile app that provides informational environmental context for outdoor planning in the Salt Lake Valley. The app does not require an ExposureIQ account.
Location
Location is optional. If you choose to use it, the app uses your coordinates on the device to calculate distances to recreation options. The device also sends the coordinates to the National Weather Service for local weather and alert requests.
If you request a pollen forecast, the chosen Salt Lake Valley point is sent through the ExposureIQ session endpoint to Google Maps Platform. If you load the optional pollen heatmap, the requested map area, detail level, and pollen type are sent through the ExposureIQ heatmap endpoint to Google. The heatmap uses Google Maps on supported Android and iPhone builds. ExposureIQ keeps returned pollen forecasts and map images in session memory rather than adding them to its stored shared live payload. The session service retains UTC dates and aggregate request counts to enforce the shared request limits. Cloudflare and Google may process network request metadata under their own privacy terms.
Saved Guidance preferences
If you save environmental sensitivities for Guidance, those limited preference flags are stored in secure storage on your device. ExposureIQ does not transmit those preferences to its live-data service.
Feedback
The feedback button opens your email app. Any message you choose to send is handled by your email provider and is received at the address shown in the draft.
Service providers
ExposureIQ uses government and reviewed environmental sources, Cloudflare for live-data delivery, Railway for scheduled collection, and Google Maps Platform for optional pollen forecasts, pollen heatmaps, and supported Google Maps functions. Review the Google Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy for their practices.
